Palolem, South Goa

THIS IS: Palolem, South Goa

NEXT STOP: JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN

Oh dreamy Palolem, you were everything I hoped Goa would be.

Palolem, a dream. A chill coastal beach town where you can walk to everything. We stayed about 50 metres from the beach, at very VERY cheap accommodation called Cupid’s Castle. The room wasn’t too great, and the actual accommodation area was a tad stinky and dirty, but Palolem itself made up for it. Shops, convenience stores and markets surrounded us and restaurants were just around the corner.

Our days in Palolem were filled with walking the length of the beach, which is especially lovely in the evening around sunset, and the hour that follows. Swimming was just blissful and the warm water was most welcoming. I loved watching the amount of cows and dogs at the beach!

FOOD

Amazing. We found a few total gems in Palolem! There are two little vegetarian/vegan cafes here, Little World is okay but I feel like they need to work on their menu a bit more, especially when Zest is literally on the same road about 40m away and it RULES. Really fresh and delicious food, like rice paper rolls, raw lasagne, smoothie bowls, amazing smoothies, iced matcha lattes (believe it!) and garlic mushrooms on toast which was pretty amazeballs. Zest was a real surprise and highlight of Palolem. Our favourite place, however, was Shree Ganesh Pure Veg, and we visited everyday for lunch or dinner.  The eggplant masala (Bengan Masala) was a highlight and I also really liked the Hot n Sour soup (on the menu: Hot n’ Soup haha).

All in all, we were two very happy kids. There’s not too much to say but GO HERE!
